Sadly, it was time to
go home. The hotel arranged for a car to pick us up from
the villa at 9:00am and we were soon at the airport. We
had arrived quite early, thinking that we would have plenty
of time to relax in the lounge. Unfortunately, the check-in
counters weren't open and didn't open until 90 minutes before
our flight. We were at the back of a very long queue with
only two staff members working. There was also no business
class check-in available. By the time we got processed,
there was scarcely time to find the lounge and sit down
before we had to board the plane. We were nevertheless determined
to get a free glass of bubbly, which we succeeded in doing! |

The captain announced
that our delayed arrival was because this plane had been
given priority as we were coming in and we had to do another
circuit to accommodate it. |

why the plane got priority or why fire engines had gone
out to meet it. |

And that was that. Our
sunshine holiday was over. It wasn't our normal sort of
holiday, but we really enjoyed it and will definitely consider
doing something similar in future. |
