Bruce goes to Delos

It was another windy night and the seas were still heavy as we approached Mykonos. We rather hoped that our tug pilot would concentrate on getting us into port, rather than eat his sandwich.

According to the schedule, we should have followed the route below, which would have meant anchoring close to Delos, disembarking via tender to visit the island, then sailing on towards Mykonos where, once again, we would have used tender boats to disembark for our visit to the town.
Because the seas were too rough to use tenders, we sailed directly to Mykonos, where we docked. Those who wanted to go to Delos walked a short distance to where a specially chartered ferry was waiting. We were warned that the ferry crossing back to Delos might be choppy. Geoff decided not to brave it!

As we left for Delos on the ferry, Geoff watched from a safe distance

The return trip to Mykonos was even choppier than the outound trip!

The Delos "expedition team" returned in time for lunch.
We still had the rest of the day in which to explore Mykonos Town by ourselves.
