2006: Cornwall

From Dartmouth, we drove to Padstow. We had a lovely large house just 5 minutes walk from the pretty harbour.
Below: Padstow on the right and Rock opposite.
We took a number of walks along the beautiful coast.

Including one to the stone built Daymark Tower. Built in the times of the Spanish Armada when fires were lit along the coast to warn of impending invasion.

Left: The main street of Padstow.

Right: The famous Rick Stein Restaurant, where we ate a fantastic meal.

We also took the ferry to Rock, from where we had another great walk.

We visited our friend Stephen in St Mawes...
...popping in to visit the pretty village of Portscatho on the way there...
...and to Heligan Gardens on the way back the next day.

Also staying in Padstow the same week were David and Jane. Together we went to the Eden Project. It was huge and fascinating.
It was a Special Birthday for Jane while we were there, and we celebrated it at the Rick Stein Bistro.
And after that highlight, the next day we drove home.
