Our flight to Gatwick got cancelled with 18 hours notice, due to strikes at all Italian airports today. Our travel agent managed to rebook us on a flight to Heathrow two and a half hours earlier instead. This meant that instead of leaving the hotel at a civilised time of 10:45am, we were picked up at 8:30am instead. If that wasn't bad enough, we were subjected to by far the worst driver of our trip so far. He was reckless, drove too fast and didn't pay due care and attention, preferring to look at his phone and adjust his tie in the rear-view mirror - constantly. We were very relieved to arrive at the airport in one piece!

Despite the final unpleasant ride, every other aspect of our holiday had been wonderful!
