A walking tour of Hoi An's old town, Geoff goes shopping and a magical evening

Monday 13th November 2017

There was no chance to relax this morning after our long day of travelling yesterday. Tien was keen for us to have an early start for our walking tour of Hoi An. Initially she suggested that we meet at 8:00 a.m. We thought 9.00 a.m. would be preferable, but we compromised on 8:30!

The view from our balcony - quite a contrast from Hanoi

It was only a short drive from our hotel to Hoi An's ancient town. At the entrance to the town, we got out of the car and continued on foot. First, Tien went over to the ticket office and bought tickets for us.

The streets of the old town were quiet and it wasn't too hot yet.
We were glad we had started out early after all.

The afternoon was officially "at leisure". It was very hot, but Geoff decided to walk back into the town to do a little shopping and take some more photos. Bruce (sensibly, he thought) had a nap!

In the evening, we caught the hotel's courtesy shuttle bus back to the old town for dinner.
