Arrive in Malta -
depart later from Valletta

Saturday 13th May 2017
Our plane arriving at Heathrow on its inbound flight from Valletta.

Anticipation...

After a good flght, we were met at the airport and driven to the cruise ship terminal in the Grand Harbour Valletta, where the beautiful Island Sky was awaiting our arrival!
(Thank you to our cruise director Neil, for permission to use his picture. There are a few more from him later on.)

Cabin 417 - Our home for the next 24 days

Taken from the ship in the port of Valletta, looking out towards Birgu (left), also known as Città Vittoriosa and Senglea (right), also known as Città Invicta, both of which are old fortified cities on the south side of the Grand Harbour.

The harbour is a busy one, with seemingly large maintenance facilities, assuming this huge platform is anything to go by.

We were all invited to go onto the aft decks after dinner for a glass of bubbly and to admire the views as we departed the Grand Harbour, Valletta. It was a beautiful, balmy night and it turned out to be a magical experience.
