A relaxing long weekend spent with our good friends Jane & David, in a wonderful house!

Friday 28th June 2013

We travelled by train. Geoff was very pleased to see the Orient Express in Whitstable when we arrived.

On the first evening, we went to the Crab & Winkle Restaurant, above the fish market, for a meal.

 

Saturday 29th June 2013

We bought some fresh sea bass in the market for dinner later

We sat in the warm sunshine drinking champagne and beer, followed by pizza

Ice-cream, served on the verandah as we watched the sun setting.

 

Sunday 30th June 2013

We decided to do a long walk to Herne Bay and catch a bus back

Herne Bay

After having a drink at a pub in Herne Bay, we caught the bus back to Whitstable. It was a hot day, so we were forced to stop for ice cream when we got back. We also bought cake for afternoon tea later, as if we hadn't had enough to eat!

That evening, we had an excellent meal in the restaurant at the Whitstable Oyster Fishery Company

Monday 1st July 2013

We decided to take a walk in a different direction today.

While we were out, William got up to mischief!

A larger than expected lunch at the Pearson's Arms before it was time to go home.

We loved our stay in Whitstable. Thank you to Jane and David for inviting us to share their house and their lovely company.
