3rd - 9th March 2010. A very sociable week in Sydney, with generous hospitality from the Loudon family

Our afternoon flight from Auckland to Sydney was pleasant
and we were well looked after by the Qantas crew
We were treated to some spectacular views of Sydney as we flew in
Above: Bondi Beach

Above: Manly

Above: Parramatta River
After landing, we got though immigration quickly, but were delayed slightly because we had to declare the flax table mats which we had acquired in New Zealand. After shaking them and prodding them (to see see if contained any insects), we were allowed to keep them.
We were very pleased to see Peter waiting at the airport to welcome us and drive us to their home.

We met Peter for lunch and then decided to take an afternoon ferry ride to Manly

The large ferry we were on had to take evasive action to avoid this yacht. The yachtsmen must have been pretty scared!

More views from the Loudon's living room... very nice too!

5th March 2010

Meeting with Craig in Oxford Street
Gary, Geoff and Craig

Geoff needed to go to the loo (above) but had trouble with the door, resulting in acute embarrassment for him as the door slid open while he was in mid flow!

We were treated, by Peter and Lorraine, to a delicious meal at a Thai restaurant (above)

6th March 2010

P&L's home... with their pet dragon lizard!

A drive with P&L, with scenic views and brunch included!

7th March 2010

Another family reunion, this time with Colin and Cheryl (plus Lorraine and Peter, of course) over a good lunch at Manly.

Milly kept us amused!

8th March 2010

Crossing the Spit Bridge...

... with coffee (and breakfast) on the other side of the bridge

A dead rat - lovely!
Another visitor to keep Milly company

9th March 2010

A leisurely walk across the Spit Bridge for coffee and breakfast at the Plonk Beach Cafe (again!)

The view from Peter & Lorraine's home
Sadly, it was time to leave, but we were looking forward to our first flight on the Airbus A380 and to spending a couple of days in Singapore.
Peter kindly drove us to the airport and we got some last photos of this lovely city.

Singapore bound - on the new Airbus A380!
