Day 14: Volgograd

Sunday, 25th October 1998

The next day, we were back in Volgograd, where we did a little shopping and generally had a happy mooch around this pleasant city.

The station and the flower market

For those who van read Cyrillic, one can see on the station the word "VOKSAL". Apparently, when the Russians wanted to build a railway, they came to England to see how we did it. They took them to Vauxhall station, and somehow the name got used to mean "station" in Russian....
